About

Although it is named after one of the most significant words in South Asia meaning silk, Rasham is, however, a tribute to Rasham Jan Peracha. A devout mother of four and an inspirational woman, she cooked meals for all to share and had a heart of gold. Her will to spread love through food for everyone inspired her son to honor his late mother’s memory by continuing her legacy. With the wish to create an eatery that helped revisit the flavorful food his mother was famous for, Talet Peracha founded Rasham from a humble grocery store in South Windsor CT.

Having come a long way from from its birth in 2003, Rasham is today successfully established as a server of quality food in all the diversified flavors of Pakistani cuisine. With its five-star service and an ambiance that is quaint and comfortable, Rasham serves homely food in the hub of South Windsor in a quiet setting suitable for all meals of the day.

Previously part of the corporate world, Talet Peracha gave up on his occupation to devote his life to his passion for cooking and serving. Incorporating his mother’s secret recipes into all servings that celebrate the rich culture and heritage of Pakistani food, Talet Parcha has fruitfully created a space that helps fashion an experience of warmth and love through food. With the humble origins as a small grocery store in Vernon, CT, Talet Peracha turned Rasham into what it is today with hard work and nothing but will to continue his mother’s love for cooking for others. His love for good food inspires him to continue creating culinary experiences unlike ever before.
